The DuraSpace organization announced the launch of the 2012 Sponsorship Program encouraging users of DSpace, Fedora and DuraCloud open source technologies for digital preservation and access to invest in radical collaboration by becoming DuraSpace sponsors.

World Bank Launches DSpace "Open Knowledge Repository"

The World Bank recently announced adoption of an Open Access policy thereby joining institutions, organizations and advocates around the world who are making research outputs broadly accessible. The policy will go into effect on July 1, 2012.

Hydra Releases 4.0.0
On April 24, 2012 the Hydra developers "who make Hydra happen" released Active Fedora 4.0.0 and HydraHead 4.0.0.

This two-part approach formed the basis for the JISC-funded CLIF (Content Lifecycle Integration Framework) Project.
