Hot Topics at 4Science: ORCiD API v.2 and New Projects in Four Continents

From Susanna Mornati, 4Science  4Science released DSpace-CRIS 5.8, including the support for ORCiD API v.2.

4Science is more and more international! Plenty of new DSpace and DSpace-CRIS projects began this month, from Africa with the Durban University of Technology to Asia with the University of Kuwait, to Europe with the University College Dublin, the University of Coimbra and the National Institute of Astrophysics in Italy. All these institutions have turned to 4Science to carry out their repository projects in a variety of domains: research outputs, theses and dissertations, cultural heritage, and knowledge dissemination.

Besides, in South America, 4Science will sponsor and present at the International Conference on Libraries and Digital Repositories that will be held on October 2-4, 2017.

On September 21, 4Science participated in the German DSpace User Group meeting, organized by Pascal-Nicolas Becker, The Library Code, whom we thank for hospitality, together with the University of Stuttgart and the Fraunhofer IRB. The event was a success, with plenty of participants from all Germany and a deep interest for DSpace-CRIS. The University of Bamberg presented a docker script for DSpace-CRIS that is hosted on our Github repository: https://github.com/4Science/dspace-docker.

Last, but not least, at PASIG 2017, Erin Tripp, Business Development Manager, DuraSpace announced plans to help implement a DuraCloud service in Europe through a project with 4Science (more on that coming soon). At 4Science we believe that digital preservation is getting more and more important within research and cultural heritage data management.
