Clifford Lynch and David Wood to Speak at 2013 VIVO Conference

St. Louis, MO The 2013 VIVO Conference is set for August 14-16 in St. Louis. Clifford Lynch, Executive Director at CNI, and David Wood, Chief Technology Officer at 3 Round Stones, will be speakers at the Conference. Clifford Lynch, Executive Director, Coalition for Networked Information has led the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI, http://www.cni.org/) since 1997. CNI, jointly sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and EDUCAUSE, includes about 200 member organizations concerned with the intelligent uses of information technology and networked information to enhance scholarship and intellectual life. CNI’s wide-ranging agenda includes work in digital preservation, data intensive scholarship, teaching, learning and technology, and infrastructure and standards development. Prior to joining CNI, Lynch spent 18 years at the University of California Office of the President, the last 10 as Director of Library Automation. Lynch, who holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, is an adjunct professor at Berkeley’s School of Information.
David Wood, Chief Technology Officer, 3 Round Stones, a Linked Data company architected the first large-scale RDF database (http://mulgara.org), re-architected the Persistent URL service (http://purl.org, http://purlz.org) to support Linked Data, and co-founded the Callimachus Project (http://callimachusproject.org). He is co-chair of the World Wide Web Consortium’s RDF Working Group (http://w3.org/2011/rdf-wg/). His most recent book is Linked Data, Manning, 2013.
