Winchester, MA The DuraSpace organization is pleased to announce that Laura C. Wood has accepted an appointment to the DuraSpace Board of Directors.
Laura Wood is the director of the Tisch Library (http://www.library.tufts.edu/tisch/index.php) at Tufts University (http://www.tuftsdaily.com/new-director-sets-goals-for-university-library-system-1.2629928#.USt9ZqV8vzI). Wood's goals for Tisch include improving the library's collections and space, and facilitating student access to both. She says, "Libraries are about conversations. Being a librarian is about providing access to and facilitating those conversations whether they happened two hours ago, or 200 years ago."
Wood holds an M.B.A. from Emory, an M.S. in information and library sciences from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in religion from Yale Divinity School and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College. Laura is involved in conversations exploring how Tufts will expand its repository services and digital asset management strategy in a collaborative and distributed environment, and DuraSpace looks forward to having Laura's broad background and strategic vision as a part of its board.
