Fedora 3.2 Launch Set for May 5, 2009

By Chris Wilper The development team is working hard to finalize Fedora 3.2 and has now set a release date of May 5th.  Highlights for this release include a new, web-based GUI for repository administrators and improved storage pluggability, including Amazon S3 support.  Many other improvements and bug fixes will be included.  For a complete list, please visit this page:
We would also like to welcome two new committers to the team.  Andrew Woods joined Fedora Commons in January and brings several years of experience in developing an OAIS-compliant digital archive for the US Government Printing Office.  Kai Strnad of FIZ-Karlsruhe has made several quality contributions to the project in the past, and has recently accepted an invitation to become a committer.  Welcome Andrew and Kai!
Finally, a new website for the Fedora project is in the works and will be available soon.  As Fedora Commons has grown as an organization, we now host several projects, of which the Fedora Repository Project is one.  This new project-specific website will be the central location for finding news, documentation, and downloads pertaining directly to the Fedora Repository Project, and will be linked prominently from the Fedora Commons homepage.
