DuraSpace Adds 40 New Contributors in 2014 Campaign

Winchester, MA  Winchester, MA Many thanks to our community for the success of the 2014 DuraSpace fundraising campaign. The total dollars raised was $1.25 million, ensuring that DuraSpace open source projects, DSpace, Fedora and VIVO, continue to serve the global communities that depend on them into the future. In addition the generous, ongoing institutional contributions of developer time, talent and commitment are critical to the success of our projects. We deeply appreciate your support.
 
Total funds raised this year from DuraSpace Membership, Registered Service Providers and Corporate Sponsors was $1,250,750. The majority of these dollars came from the 138 DuraSpace Members, which included 39 new contributors.
 
A few facts:
 
• Total funds committed to each project include: DSpace $275,333; Fedora $525,083; VIVO $340,834; General $109,500.
• Membership funds increased 34% or $308,630 over last year.
—Global Membership (non-USA) has increased and broadened significantly, up 92% overall from last year, from $199,370 to $382,500  
—Western Europe Membership is up from $25,000 to $62,500
—United Kingdom Membership is up from $61,750 to $130,000
—Australia/New Zealand/Asia Membership is up from $45,500 to $90,000
—First ever South American Member, at the Platinum level
