From Michele Mennielli, CINECA
Bologna, Italy A few months ago The HongKong Polytechnic University launched an International Tender to choose a new CRIS (Current Research Information System) for their Institution. Cineca responded to the Tender and we are pleased to announce that the system that has been chosen by the University is DSpace-CRIS, developed by the Italian Consortium.
This new collaboration with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, together with the one already in place (and recently renewed) with the Hong Kong University, will help CINECA work on new functionality and enhancements to the system, that will then be made available to the whole community. One example of such improvements are the activities related to the integration between DSpace-CRIS and ORCID. ORCID “push” services will be added by June. A complete synchronization will be completed by the end of 2015.
Another important announcement is that the new version of DSpace-CRIS (v. 4.3) will soon be available. DSpace-CRIS (v. 4.3), developed for the European organization, euroCRIS, is due to be released on April 7, 2015. After a week of testing, it will be made widely available with new ORCID integration services that include “profiles claim," with an ORCID Authentication service, and the submission integration with porting of DSpace 5 XMLUI content into the DSpace-CRIS JSPUI. We hope that the community will appreciate these improvements. We look forward to sharing them.
