DuraSpace launched its 11th Hot Topics Community Webinar Series, “Integrating ORCID Persistent Identifiers with DSpace, Fedora and VIVO” last month.  Curated by ORCID’s European Regional Director, Josh Brown, this series provided detailed insights into how ORCID persistent digital identifiers can be integrated with DSpace and Fedora repositories and with the VIVO open source semantic web application that provides an integrated view of the scholarly work of an organization.  Representatives from organizations and institutions who have enabled and implemented ORCID with these open source systems shared their experiences and highlighted how ORCID adds value to information systems.

The series consisted of three webinars, “New Possibilities: Developments with DSpace and ORCID” (presented by João Moreira and Paulo Graça , FCT-FCCN, Bram Luyten, @mire and Andrea Bollini, CINECA), “Hydra: many heads, many connections. Enriching Fedora Repositories with ORCID” (presented by Laura Paglione, ORCID and Rick Johnson, University of Notre Dame) and “Enhancing Early Career Researcher Profiles: VIVO & ORCID Integration” (presented by Kristi Holmes, Northwestern University, Jon Corson-Rikert and Simeon Warner, Cornell University).

A recording of all three presentations along with the presentation slides, is available at http://duraspace.org/hot-topics.

Our next Hot Topics Series, "Digital Preservation with ArchivesDirect: Ready, Set, Go!" will begin in May.  Registration and series details will be available at the beginning of the month at http://duraspace.org/articles/news.
