Austin, TX  Take a look at the new version of the Digital Preservation Network (DPN) web site:

http://dpn.org

The clean, one-page design explains DPN as the only large-scale digital preservation service administered by and for the academy that is built to last beyond the life spans of individuals, technological systems, and organizations. Technical specifications are available for review along with legal documents and information on depositing assets (in APTrust for APTrust members only, or in DuraCloud Vault, all other DPN members) are highlighted on the new web site.

Read more about DPN in two recent articles. An Inside Higher Ed article entitled, "Preventing a Digital Dark Age" by Carl Straumsheim explains why "Universities and nonprofits are building a "preservation ecosystem" to ensure today's research can benefit scholars of the future": bit.ly/1XhIaUV. In the March/April issue of D-Lib Magazine Mary Molinaro, Chief Operating Officer and Services Manager, Digital Preservation Network (DPN) announces that DPN is accepting content and provides background information: http://bit.ly/1nLB8LX.
