Austin, TX The DuraSpace organization today announced Carissa Smith’s departure from her position as Cloud Services Product Manager effective July 29, 2016. She has accepted a position as a systems analyst with a non-profit healthcare organization in upstate New York.
CEO Debra Hanken Kurtz said, “It is with mixed feelings that we bid Carissa farewell. She joined DuraSpace after college, almost nine years ago. In that time, she has helped create our hosted web services. In the last year she played an integral role in balancing that budget and realizing a profit. We owe her a debt of gratitude for her work with those services and for her part in growing our organization. We wish her every success in the future.”
As Cloud Services Product Manager she helped to shepherd DuraCloud, DSpaceDirect, ArchivesDirect and DuraCloud Vault from initial concepts to working prototypes to publically available hosted services. She developed training materials and conducted customer training sessions, created business and support models, and pricing for each service. In addition Carissa provided customized customer service.
Customer support and service for DuraCloud, DSpaceDirect, ArchivesDirect and DuraCloud Vault will remain unchanged while DuraSpace recruits a replacement for the cloud services product manager position. Please use the firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com email addresses for any needs going forward. As always, the customer support system is available directly at http://support.duraspace.org.
