For Your Weekend Repository Browsing Pleasure: The New Jersey Digital Highway

Ithaca, NY The New Jersey Digital Highway (NJDH) offers visitors an “on ramp” to views of the Garden State in historical photographs, mysteries (http://www.njhm.com/index.htm), diners (http://njdiners.com/) and much more. This highly collaborative web site is self-described as a “One stop shop for New Jersey history and culture, from the collections of NJ libraries, museums, archives and historical societies.”
•According to an emerging demographic profile of New Jersey-ites almost one in five of all New Jersey residents are foreign born. The NJDH presents photographic collections that highlight the culture, history, contributions and experiences of  immigrants (http://www.njdigitalhighway.org/collections/).
•At one time the state of New Jersey was criss-crossed by dirt roads and sandy tracks according to the WWII Stories Collection (http://njn.net/television/specials/war/photogallery/) of photographs and annotations contributed by New Jersey Public Television and Radio. The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center Collection contains images from New Jersey’s WWII agricultural history (http://njn.net/television/specials/war/photogallery/seabrook/photos.html).
The New Jersey Digital Highway was developed using RUcore technologies on a Fedora Repository. Learn more about the Rutgers Community Repository (RUcore) here: http://rucore.libraries.rutgers.edu/.
