CALL: Supporting the Digital Humanities (SDH) 2011, "Answering the Unaskable"

Goettingen, Germany Following the first successful Supporting the Digital Humanities (SDH) Conference in Vienna in 2010, the CLARIN (http://www.clarin.eu/external/) and DARIAH (http://www.dariah.eu/) initiatives have decided to jointly organize the second SDH conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in November 17-18 in Copenhagen. The conference venue will be at the University of Copenhagen, a participant in both CLARIN and DARIAH.

Those of you who have been following the HBO series, GAME OF THRONES, are probably familiar with the phrase, "Winter is coming."  Well, CURATEcamp is coming!  And without monstrous wolves, ice zombies, and scheming knights. CURATEcamp is a series of unconference-style events focused on connecting practitioners and technologists interested in digital curation.

Slots for #CURATEcamp 2011 (August 15-16, Stanford Univ., $125 for registration/lodging/meals) are starting to fill up.

Updates from the Preservation and Archiving Special Interest Group (PASIG)

Redwood City, CA I would like to take this opportunity to announce that Stanford's Tom Cramer will now take the helm of the PASIG and will help guide it into an independent organization status. I will continue to be formally involved, as will Mike Keller, and continuing and new steering committee members (TBD). Expect to see a posting from Tom on the PASIG website in the next several days.
