Winchester, MA DuraSpace announced today that their organization has been awarded a 2-year, $861,000 grant from The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. The grant is in support of extending the DuraCloud services (http://www.duracloud.org) an online cloud based service, for the long term preservation and stewardship of research and other scholarly content.

Winchester, MA  Earlier this year the DuraSpace organization launched its third annual Sponsorship Program, encouraging all institutions using the DSpace and Fedora open source technologies to contribute financially to the not for profit entity which provides leadership and support for these platforms. Thanks to our community we raised $417,750 in this year's campaign, with $223,750 coming from the DSpace community, $173,000  from the Fedora community and $21,000 from institutions who do not use either DSpace or Fedora, but who recognize the critical role DuraS

Washington, DC  The 2013 NAGARA annual meeting will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 10-13, 2013. NAGARA will not be jointly meeting with any other associations in 2013. This year, the program will feature the following tracks: electronic records preservation, records management, management and policy, and access (social media, description, etc.). Session proposals are being sought.

Winchester, MA  On October 17 Sayeed Choudhury and James L. Mullins presented “E-Research Support at Johns Hopkins University and Purdue University” to participants in the DuraSpace/ARL/DLF E-Science Institute. In this webinar, the presenters discuss their progress towards developing a data management plan and service at their institutions. This pre-recorded webinar is part the DuraSpace Hot Topics Community Webinar Series on "Research Data Management Support" curated by E-Science Institute faculty.

To celebrate Open Access Week 2012 Oct. 21-28 DuraSpace will post a new "For Your Repository Viewing Pleasure" each day (and beyond) to highlight the "splendid stuff in YOUR repository".

Boston, MA  Since 2009 when the MIT Faculty Open Access Policy went into effect more than 7,000 MIT faculty papers have been made openly available from DSpace@MIT. The articles have been downloaded over 630,000 times by visitors from all over the world.
