Edinburgh, Scotland  The University of Edinburgh with support from the Digital Curation Centre, EDINA, and Edinburgh University Library are delighted to announce that after its temporary incorporation into Open Repositories 2012 the Repository Fringe will return as a standalone event this year to be held in the Informatics Forum from 31 July to 2 August 2013. Further sponsors and supporters to be announced.

Open Repositories 2012 Update: Early Booking Rate Extended

Edinburgh, Scotland We are counting down to the Seventh International Conference on Open Repositories (OR2012) on 9-13 July, 2012 and are delighted to announce that we are able to extend the Early Booking rate until Monday 18 June. The Early Booking rate is £295 with a full-price rate of £350 thereafter. There is also a day rate of £115.

Making the SWORD Deposit Picture Clear

Ithaca, NY The SWORD (Simple Web-service Offering Repository Deposit) protocol was developed in to 2007 make it easier for institutions to deposit research outputs in institutional repositories. In the Jan/Feb issue of D-Lib Magazine authors Stuart Lewis, The University of Auckland Library, Pablo de Castro, GrandIR, and Richard Jones, Cottage Labs present nine use cases identified by the SONEX and SWORD projects in an article, "SWORD: Facilitating Deposit Scenarios".
