VIVO Project Applies “It Takes a Village” Framework

What does VIVO look like in five years? How do we get there? The VIVO Leadership Group has been talking about sustainability and long-term planning, and recently completed an exercise to gather feedback from leaders. Laurie Arp, Interim Director of DuraSpace Community Supported Programs, has mapped out a path forward using the methodology framed by the It Takes a Village guidebook, a LYRASIS program funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Over the next couple of months, VIVO leaders will be working with Laurie Arp  to address our highest priorities for VIVO, including clarifying our vision and mission, improving governance processes, and eventually, a long-term road map. Along the way, we’ll be looking for input and feedback from the community at large, so watch the vivo-community mailing list for more information. Please send questions and comments to Julia Trimmer, VIVO Leadership Group Chair, at julia.trimmer@duke.edu.
